General Data Protection Regulation Policy 2018
On this page you will find the specific information relating to how HT Locksmiths manages customers personal Data.
In this policy, updated 23/04/18, the customer will be referred to as 'you' or 'your' and HT Locksmiths as 'we' or 'us'.  
How data is collected and stored
We don't collect any data for promotional purposes and only store specific data relating to the work we undertake in accordance the requirements from Her Majesties Revenue and Customs. This data is in the from of hard copy invoices and is stored in a locked cabinet at our business premises for a period of 6 years before being destroyed. By contacting or instructing HT Locksmiths you agree to have your name, address, contact telephone number(s) and email address(s) stored on a hard copy invoice in accordance with this policy.
We do not share any data with any other parties.
Card Payment Information
All card payments collected on site are processed through 'I Zettle' and are governed by their security & data protection processes.
We have no access to any card specific information.
Key Duplication
At HT Locksmiths we keep no copies of any customers keys. All the keys we duplicate are returned to the customer along with all duplicates at the time of duplication. Our coded high security and master key cylinders that require a specific code to duplicate may, at the customers request, be stored (code only) for the purpose of ordering replacement keys as required by the customer. These 'codes' are only stored on hard copy, and are locked aware in a cabinet at our premises. Any codes are kept in a separate location from any machines capable of creating keys.
Authorisation for emergency entry
In addition to hard copy invoices HT Locksmiths store a paper form entitled 'Authorisation for emergency entry' that may be stored along side our hard copy invoices in accordance with our responsibility to ascertain a persons residency or authority when instructing us to gain entry to a premises.
Data Disposal
As mentioned at the top of the page data is stored for a period of 6 years before being destroyed. You may request if writing that your data be destroyed ahead of schedule but this will affect the guarantees we place on the products we fit.
